A group of highly skilled and passionate storytellers has taken on the task of helping Larry Floyd obtain a pardon from the Governor of the state of Mississippi for a murder he and his family claim he did not commit. The story involves the themes of underage children in the adult criminal justice system, solitary confinement, complex family dynamics, faith and forgiveness. The story begins in Hattiesburg, Mississippi during the racially torn 1970s, carries through Parchman prison and a daring escape in the 1990s, a clever plan for release in the 2000s, and on through the present day aftermath of the pardon attempt.
Through the use of investigative reporting and social media skills, it is our intent to right some serious wrongs as well as solve the original murder.
